Ladybaby: Ladybeard makes music debut as lead member of pop idol trio

Oh, Ladybeard. Your antics have given us so much joy over the years here at RocketNews24. Who could forget the time you gracefully modelled the boob shirt for our viewing pleasure? And your collaboration with Sailor Suit Old Man was a thing of pure joy.

But we always knew you were destined for even greater things, Ladybeard. And now you’re making your pop debut with your very own idol unit “Ladybaby”!

It appears that Ladybaby will be tasked with promoting costume company Clearstone via special events and YouTube performances. The new idol unit consists of Ladybeard himself, plus “junior” idols Rie Kaneko and Rei Kuromiya. The trio was officially unveiled on March 26 with the following post on Twitter:

Richard M. aka Ladybeard, is an Australian wrestler and entertainer. Before starting his carreer in Japan he lived in Hongkong and Taiwan, also doing singing and dancing acts, which were very popular.

In 2013 he moved to Japan and after only a year he got very popular through wrestling shows, various singing perfomances and even TV shows.
He calls his music style a mix of kawaii pop and hard core. This makes his personal genre called “kawaii core”. He sings popular pop songs and ballads, starting with a cute voice and original sounds and then, in the middle of the songs, heavy metal elements are added and he sings with his very deep voice.
